In July, Western Gundam fans got their first glimpse of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury at San Diego Comic-Con with a screening of the show’s Episode 0 Prologue. There’s currently no legal way to watch this episode, but Anime News Network has written up a description for anyone (like me!) who is too impatient to wait until the October premiere. We meet our protagonist, Suletta, as a wide-eyed toddler who is already able to pilot the Gundam. And I thought parenting my own toddler was a challenge!
Did you notice we posted a new tutorial this month? Gunpla 101 has been fairly dormant while I focus on raising my young family, but we have some awesome contributors who are still breathing life into this website. This month, Megaplamo shared an awesome guide on how to remove nub marks and avoid stress marks when you build Gunpla for competitions.
One housekeeping thing: most Gunpla preorder links now direct to HobbyLink Japan, where I’ve recently joined the affiliate program. It has become increasingly difficult to find accurate and legitimate Gunpla purchase links through Amazon, so I’m hoping this will be more helpful to readers. Clicking any new HobbyLink link will now support Gunpla 101, so thanks in advance! Now, without further ado, here are this month’s new kits:
Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans now has an MSV (Mobile Suit Variations) line, starting with this purple knight in a winged helmet. We know nothing about this Gundam yet, including what its localized name is, so expect a bunch of different spellings for now!

This new kit from the SD Gundam World Heroes show is based on G-Gundam’s Satan Gundam, with plenty of evil-looking demonic features. Its cloak, devil horns, and scepter certainly mark this expressive kit as the show’s demon king.
This year, we did things a little differently at Gunpla 101. For the last 10…
Can you believe it’s been nearly 10 YEARS since Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans? Even…
How well do you really know the Gundam industry? After years of buying Gundam model…
Here at Gunpla 101, we love checking out upcoming releases to anticipate which Gunpla kits…
